Hosted by Queen Mary University of London and organised by Professor Valsamis Mitsilegas and Dr Niovi Vavoula, the IV CINETS conference brought together established scholars and early-career researchers on themes including detention, securitisation of mobility, trafficking and smuggling, and the criminalisation of solidarity.
Panels addressed European and US perspectives on crimmigration, hostile environment policies, and the normalisation of punitive border governance.
